Research Interests

Professor Allen's current research interests include the areas of analog CMOS integrated circuit design. In particular, Dr. Allen is focused on RF and low voltage applications using standard digital CMOS technology. Dr. Allen has also done research in analog behavioral modeling and the understanding of analog IC design.

Present research topics include 1.) design of a CMOS low-phase noise VCO, 2.) implementation of a high-Q inductor on a digital CMOS technology, 3.) analog-digital and digital-analog converters for IF applications in wireless systems, 4.) low voltage, wide-dynamic range CMOS op amps, and 5.) on chip RF filters.
